There
are various approaches to writing a screenplay. Some like to
write from the character and some like to write from the outline.
As
you start your movie script, you may find yourself starting out
with either approaches, both, or even some other place that gets
you to want to write a screenplay in the first place. For
some, this other place could be anger, frustration, happiness, an
experience, a big idea you can no longer ignore--these kinds of
things that fuel your writing. The
screenwriting outline approach may mean that you like to see the
"whole" before you fill in the details. It would
be like flying on a small airplane and as you look down you see
the entire screenplay "quilted" into fields, rivers, a
clump of trees, and this outline approach is what you
prefer. When
you land the plane, you will see closer the outlines and details
of these fields, rivers and trees and that is when you fill in the
rest of the movie script. Start
your outline and write your screenplay today!
