Writing
Movie Scripts Formats comes in two forms. The
first is mechanics and this can easily be fixed by ordering
screenwriting software which will automatically format your script
in the right way.
The
second is how you decide to write your screenplay. Does the
plot go in sequential order like the movie, A Beautiful Mind?.
Are there flashbacks? Is it an open ending where nothing
gets resolved? You
can answer these questions by reading other people's work.
See where you can read scripts below. There
is also what is known as Act I, II, and III, where you lay out
your characters and setting in I and then build on the conflict in
II and then solve the conflict in III. Also,
if possible, start your screenplay with a "hook."
If you notice, a lot of the movies and even TV, start with, for
example, the act
of murder, and the rest of the movie or TV show
solves the murder. If you don't like this format that has
been effectively used again and again and you want to be
different, maybe you can come up with a new way of
"hooking" your audience? or the producer who is reading
your script?
